Meet the Candidates!

Join us to hear from the candidates running for AD73. Find out who they are, what they stand for, and how they plan to make our lives better.

We’ll ask them:

  • How they will support the NYS John Lewis Voting Rights Act if elected?

  • What are their positions on climate change?  How will they support the CLCPA?

  • What will they do to support reproductive rights in New York State?  How will they support women from other states looking for abortion services in New York State?

  • How can the legislature work effectively on Universal Health Care for all New Yorkers?

  • What are their plans to address New York’s housing crisis?

  • Which committees are they interested in joining, if elected?

Spring Into Action!

Join one of our new teams (environment or voting), pick our priorities, and get started.

Indivisible Upper East Side Voting Committee

NY State's election laws might be better than elsewhere, but there are still many issues that need to be addressed, including the pending NYS John Lewis Voting Rights Act, access to polling places, disability and language assistance, improving the effectiveness of the NYC Board of Elections, and more.

We want your input on these and other issues that matter most to you.

Indivisible Upper East Side Environmental Committee

The legislative session ending on June 2nd provides the opportunity to pass meaningful bills to tackle climate change, such as the All-Electric Building Act, even though the governor and legislators failed to pass the state budget with strong environmental protections.

Let us know if you'd like to join our Environmental Committee, to discuss these and other state and local issues you think are important.

February Monthly Meeting - Ranked Choice Voting and Invest in NY

Ranked Choice Voting is coming!  It may seem a bit daunting, but Kim Moscaritolo will help us figure it all out. She will explain which elections are eligible, how it works, and what it means.

Then, Erica Vladimir will update us on the Invest in NY campaign to ensure that the super-rich pay their fair share and prevent cuts to essential programs.

Monthly Meeting

We’ve got lots to discuss! We’ll unpack our chat with Senator Schumer and what we want to push him to do in the coming weeks.  Plus, there are NYC elections.  We’re getting a new mayor (hurrah), a new DA, a new borough president, and new city council members.

P.S. Now that we’ll have the “trifecta” of power, it’s time to use it.  Indivisible has a brand-new guide on what needs to be done. There will be sessions next month to discuss how this will work, but we thought we’d give you a sneak peek.

Monthly Meeting and Text Banking

Special Guest: Sarah Reeske, Upstate NY Indivisible Organizer, followed by Text Banking

Monthly meeting (last before the election!) at a special time. Sarah will give us a special final stretch briefing on how to undo Trump’s damage and move the country forward. With a flipped Senate, Chuck Schumer would be majority leader. That would give NY a lot of influence and power. Let’s find out how to get there and how to use it!

Text Banking - We’ll follow this with text banking to voters. We’ve moved the time earlier so we’re not calling too late at night.

Note: You must have been trained on either the Indivisible texting system or the Biden campaign system in order to do this.  There are currently no further Indivisible training sessions scheduled, but you can learn the Biden one here.

May Monthly Meeting with Councilman Ben Kallos

NYC passed our own Green New Deal months ago. Ask Ben Kallos, our councilman, if we’re on track to meet our goals, how it’s being implemented and what the public will be told.

We’re now also facing COViD-19. How well is NY doing fighting this pandemic? What can we expect going forward?

We’ll be doing this on Zoom. Details will be sent to our email list and posted to our Facebook page.

February Monthly Meeting Census

It's not just an election year. It's also time for the census. That means money, schools, roads, and Congressional representation too.

NYC is notoriously hard to count in the census, because of the diverse immigration status of people living here, multiple languages, as well as the dense population (more than one person/name/family per building or apartment).

That means we lose out on representation and federal funding. Find out more about how the census works and how you can pitch in.

We’ll be joined this month by an Extinction Rebellion representative, who will show us how to fight back and force the government to act to protect the only planet we have.
