Actions for Week of October 15, 2018

GETTING OUT THE VOTE FOR THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS IS CRUCIAL AND WE'RE GETTING DOWN TO THE FINAL WEEKS. PLEASE PARTICIPATE AND SHARE YOUR ACTIONS ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE.
Let us know what you're doing!

Monday, October 15, 2018 - TWO ACTIONS
(1) Postcard-Writing and Phone Banking at Thoughtworks

Thoughtworks
99 Madison Ave. (between 29th and 30th)
15th Floor

There are always activities at Thoughtworks on Mondays.

  • 6 p.m.: Join Rise and Resist in writing postcards for candidates in Long Island races.

  • 6:30 p.m.: Join Empire State Indivisible in phone banking for the New York State Senate races of John Brooks and James Skoufis. Email to RSVP. As with all phone banking, bring your cell phone and charger, plus a laptop or tablet.

(2) Leave a Comment for the National Parks Service
You can do this action from home or work.  From PBS: "The National Park Service is exploring whether to require protest organizers to pay for the cost of providing law enforcement and other support services for demonstrations held in the nation’s capital. The proposed rule also could shrink a significant portion of the sidewalk outside the White House that is accessible to pedestrians, leaving a five-foot wide sliver. The public has until the close of Monday to comment on the proposal."

Tuesday, October 16, 2018
Phone Banking (On Your Own) For Nationwide Races
The GOP is working hard to suppress voter turnout. Sign up for phone banking with Indivisible National to combat the right-wing efforts. You'll be calling people to get out the vote for candidates including Beto O'Rourke in Texas and Stacey Abrams in Georgia.

If you want to do something local by phone banking for Liuba Grechen Shirley in New York Congressional District 2 -- or you've already been trained by Indivisible UES for this campaign but need a new passcode -- contact Indivisible UES executive committee member Rich Meitin.
