Promote This Week's Monthly Meeting
The June meeting of Indivisible UES will be held this Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Unitarian Church on 80th and Lex. Please note that it is starting 30 minutes earlier than usual to accommodate a Politics 101 workshop, presented by You Matter. Ben Yee of You Matter will be at our monthly meeting to present a lively Politics 101 workshop. The workshop covers topics including political geography; the party structure in America; and how to engage in the existing system for real effect. A donation of $10 is suggested, but not required. Benjamin Yee was a fundraiser and Digital Director for Barack Obama in 2008. He later worked for the NY State Senate’s CIO’s office and good government think tank Reinvent Albany. Politically, Ben has served at every level of the Young Democrats, including VP of the Young Democrats of America. Ben is the founder of ShiftSpark, an online tool for Citizen Lobbying. He is also Secretary of the NY County Democratic Party and State Committeeman for NY’s 66th Assembly District.

The primary challenger to U.S. Rep. Carolyn Maloney is holding a day of canvassing and phone banking. Shifts are three hours long.
(2) Phone Bank for Liz Hanbidge
2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Sister District NY 12-13-14 and Grand Street Democrats are joining forces to host an Upper East Side phone bank for Liz Hanbidge. Liz is a first time candidate running for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a district that went for Hillary. Early name recognition will help her beat the incumbent Republican in November. RSVP to get the location. Bring a cell phone and a laptop/tablet.
