Actions for Week of March 7, 2021
Protect the vote, pick a borough president, and learn how to use our power at our monthly meeting
Actions for Week of March 7, 2021
The American Rescue Plan passed yesterday (after a long, hard fight). Checks, unemployment assistance, vaccine dollars, and more are coming.
Also, Sen. Schumer filed cloture (closed debate) on Merrick Garland's nomination while the GOP wasn't paying attention. Ha!
Lots more to do though. We've got to pass HR1, HR4, and DC statehood too. It's imperative that we stop the GOP from gerrymandering blue districts out of existence and suppressing any voters they don't like. More on that at our monthly meeting on Thursday (details below)

STOP VOTER PURGES
Shifts from 10 AM to 8 PM
In Michigan, Republicans are trying to unfairly purge voters from the rolls. Make calls to help voters preserve their ability to vote.

We won the election. But that’s not enough, we still need legislation. We’ve got to roll back Trump’s disasters and then start to move forward again. If we don’t he could come back—and send us spiraling backwards. Join us to find out how we can really, truly win power for the people.

An unheralded provision of the American Rescue Plan: It significantly reduces ACA premiums, and caps them at 8% of income! Also, the exchanges are now open for a special enrollment period. (source: https://twitter.com/ChrisMurphyCT/status/1368289482890477580)
